Im called emo because of my apparence?

Im a 15 year old girl. I dress in a mix of that, and I'm always home alone. Well I need to go buy groceries. I live in Georgia, and it's a heavily populated area. Well I need to walk across the road four lanes, a cross walk and there's a strip of stores. Would it be safe to go? Also I live in an apartment complex, and it's heavily populated. It seems safe because the neighbors let their extremely young children run around supervised. I'm just really paranoid about doing it, should I chance it?
For emo / scene / alternative / goth / punk girls?
Do most of you only like are only very attracted to guys who are from the same crowd, interests, or style as you? I don't really dress like any crowd in my high school. I buy a lot of stuff from urbanoutfitters, at the same time I have bangs and layered hair, but I don't straighten it or anything. I guess i'd say I have elements from a bunch of different crowds at my school, i kind of do my own thing. But I always thought alternative girls are really interesting, they capture my attention a lot more than other girls.at the same time, I don't like dressing alternative myself. It really isn't my style at all. I used to listen to music like screamo, post hardcore, and alternative stuff, and still enjoy it, but don't make an effort to keep up with it, as my interests have changed. But I wouldn't mind listening to it again... I guess my question is, for visuals, are you girls attracted to guys of the same style?Personally, for me, its usually the opposites attract thing, but i dont know how it is with you girls do do you girls only date guys who are really of the same crowd fashion?or is it that, because they have such common interests, they end up around you more than other guys in the first place?

People always call me emo or goth, WHY?
People ALWAYS call me emo or goth? but i don't understand please help me I mostly where skinny jeans, and like graphic T's with vans. I'm always quiet and my hair is long & & i have side bangs. I listen to ALL music, i listen to rap, metal, punk, pop, country, alternative, techno, rock, i listen to everything. But i still don't understand how people can just look at me and be like " Ewww, your emo" when i have NEVER talked to them

I am emo. I don't seek attention I just do it because I suffer from depression and anorexia. I have really good reasons but only my best friend knows. Please no criticism or hateful answers about how I must be stupid. But please be honest of why we are so disliked...

Everyone labels me as "emo"?
Okay, to start, I don't really think that " emo" is a legit stereotype. But all my friends call me the " emo" one of the group, and that's how strangers seem to perceive me, too. I'm really quiet, I don't talk to people I don't know, I'm always listening to my iPod, I usually wear dark colours my whole wardrobe is dark green, blue, and black , I'm extremely pessimistic, and I have a kind of harsh background, but does this mean that I'm " emo" ?

I'm 13, I'm in junior high and I wear makeup and dress in t shirts and skinny jeans. I have brown hair and I have alot of friends I guess. But everyone thinks I'm goth emo. I listen to glam metal. But music can't change what I am. I'm not popular. I'm pretty I guess and I am outgoing and love to be around people. Why do they think I'm emo? Is there a way to change people's opinion of me?
