"Well, at least you're not Christian. " |

My first reaction would be, "What? I have a child?!? " |

Irrelevant - I have no children, as well as being sterile |

The only thing my child could become that would disappoint me is an intolerant fundamentalist theist. |

I listen to black metal so I'd be surprised if he didn't turn into an emo, metal head or goth. |

The connection between atheism and emo escapes me. |

I'd say to my theoretical future child "No, no, no, like this, " and dress them up in a full steampunk costume. |

I'd sit them down and play them some Katatonia or Lacuna Coil. If they're going to be emo, they may as well listen to the good stuff rather than that mallgoth crap. |

You're trying to link emo and atheism. Nothing to do with each other. Someone last night tried to compare atheism and suicide, atheism and murder, and atheism and homosexuality. |

I agree, at least my kid wouldn't be a christian. Plus, who cares. I would just make sure to help my child cope with their depression since I have it myself. I would be understanding and not judge my child because I would know that it is just a phase and as long as I ensure that my child retains healthy relationships with people and the things they love then they will be ok. |

Blessings to all I'm not an Atheists . My daughter has been emo since her teen age she is like that and we love her for who she is it's cool with all the family, as long that she does not hurt her self and others power to her. |
