Question: People say that emo means emotionally disturbed. does it?

No, it's short for "emotional ", and the term was originally coined to describe a style of music. Now it's become a fad or "lifestyle " that some people equate with depression, cutting, and stuff like that, but it originally just meant "emotional ".

I agree with girl above me. Just because you are emo dosen't nessecarily mean you are depressed. It was just suposed to mean emotional, and if that is what it means, then I am definatley emo! :)

No, it means emotional. The people who assume the worst (usually say emo people cut themselves, cry all the time, listen to depressing music, yadda yadda blah blah) don't know anything about... that culture... the emo culture.

It's a shortened version of emotional. when half of them are really shallow and live in suburbia with both parents and have no real reason to have emotional problems. they just want an excuse to dress obnoxiously for attention.
