'Emo' is short for 'emotional.' It's not really like gothic. Gothic is just where you like black and you're into the skulls and sh*t, get me? Emotional is where you just think life sucks, you cut yourself because you're so depressed... Emos really piss me off.

"Emo " is the most stupid stereotype ever thought up. It originally meant "emotive rock ", and was shortened to "emo ". People then started calling people who listen to this kind of music "emo ". Soon, these ignorant people forgot about the music and decided that "emo " is a way of dressing. Then they thought that "emo " meant "emotional " and made it known that these "emo " people self-harmed. None of that is true. Edit: I hate how this idiotic label made people think of depression and self-injury so lightly. There are some people who pretend they're sad so that they can fit into this damn social group, and then there are the people who actually suffer from clinical depression and hurt themselves because of the mental state that they're in. It's serious.
