Emo Stuff. Nothing Feels Good: Punk Rock, Teenagers, And Goth.

Question: I need to get something straight. am i emo?

I was really angry and confused one day so i went to my room, and i happened to have a razor blade nearby and when i saw it i decided to cut myself. but instead of just normal cuts i decided to cut my nickname into my skin. and a couple of days later i cut some kanji symbols in my skin. and when this one girl saw the cuts she said i was emo but i dont know if i am.but on the bright side the scabs from the cuts stand out from my skin when i turn on the black lights in my room. so i need you people to decide. Am i emo?

Cutting doesn't make you emo. Emo is a state of mind where you contemplate your existence and how bleak life really is and a pessimistic state of mind as well. You have to be sad and down in the dumps and feel your emotions instead of "being a man " and suppressing everything you feel. Being emo is where you cut your wrists to escape the true pain that you feel in your heart and you don't conform to society like the "preps " and "jocks. " If you are emo, you think deeply about the dark sides of even happy things like flowers and how they wither away and die even though they are beautiful. Being emo makes you think about death in a new light and how it is inevatable. Being emo does not mean you cut yourself for fun. Being emo means you cut to escape sadness and pain. So no, poser, you are not emo. And in order to even BE emo does not require you to look the part. Personally, I feel that emo is all in your mind and you just show it on the outside. EMO= EMOTIONAL.

Like Rihanne said, your not emo, your just a cutter. You should either stop, or find help. some people have issues knowing when to stop with the blading themselves, while others do it once on accident, but you shouldn't do it either way.

No emo is totaly diff. u are just a cutter like me. ik they do look cool under the blacklight!!! dont listen to these people saying u need help cuz if it make u feel better go on with it.
