Question: Am i emo or goth? please answer!?

I like to wear black clothes(like my shoes and pants). I just love dark clothing like what people wear during the winter time, and their kinda girly? I listen to Pop...(Lady Gaga, Beyonce', Black Eyed Peas, Usher, etc) that type. Mostly all the music I listen to comes from my radio station hot 104.9! I'm like 90 % of the time ether depressed or stressed out. And I'm not a suicidal. People who are just gonna leave hate comments leave now because you're not helping at all! Thanks for answering! Ok, I don't know what a poser is...and I NOT a wanna be and I don't want attention...in fact I have to much attention that I feel like a celeb being chased by a paparazzi! I do relate to my music so I can relax and fix any situation I'm in. And I asked because my mom labels me she says I dress like a blind person, emo, goth(to much black), gay, ghetto, etc. My dad and mom compares me to every one and thing! No matter how unpopular and unusual I be they say I copy or look like some one or thing, and I can never find my own personalty and style!

I didn't really read all of this, but you're neither. You are NOT what you label yourself as. You're an individual influenced by society and want to fit in. Just be yourself. Wear what you want listen to what you want who gives a fuck?

I didn't see the other comments, but if you must really know, then you really don't know. once more, If you must really know, then you really don't know. You'd know what you are based on your personality. These two catagories of people are groups that unified based on their interests in the arts such as liturature, fine art and music, not solely by the clothes as most believe. By asking this you are lowering your value to society by being labeled something far worse.... A poser- to me its as bad sounding as soemone without a soul, becuase essentially that is what posers do, pose as others rather than being themselves. Your mood is normal for someone your age....Preteen or teen I am guessing. You are most likely depressed becuase you are not getting enough excersize and dedicating yourself to some sort of benefitial activity or passion project. Henry ford (The car maker) and many other types (i.e.puritans) of people liked to wear black but did were not Emo or Goth, they just liked it. From one human being to another, respect youreself enough to stand strong against fads and labels. Start by removing this question. Best of luck to you-

You're neither. Goths and Emos and Punks etc etc etc, identify more with the type of music they listen to rather than just their clothes. The physical appearance is more of an outward expression of how they relate to the music. And of course, if they relate to the music its usually because there is something in it that they can identify with their own feelings or life. The music comes first, not the clothes. If we're going to be superficial about this (is there any other way with labels?) I can tell you that a "true " goth pretty much hates anything played on the radio and prides themselves on finding the most obscure stuff they can find. They probably would never have found, looked at, or posted a link to a Justin Beiber video. Just saying... Its all good though. You sound like YOU. You have a style that is a mixture of many things, you listen to what YOU want to listen to and that is very cool. There's no need to label yourself. There's plenty of people out their eagar to do that for you and who needs that? You are an individual, not a trend. Also, being depressed has nothing to do with style or music. Only the poseurs out there try to play up or even fake their depression so that they can better fit their self-imposed trend. Keep being yourself. Forget the labels. P.S. Whoever gave me the thumbs down doesn't know what's up. Plain and simple. Its about the music first.

Did not check out the link but would say neither..goths wear eyeliner...emos wear girls pants. its better not to be one extreme..its tru individuality. you would not believe the egos and nonsense that goes on in any purist cliche. better to be friends with everyone, that way if someone ever wants to kick you ass..you will have it covered.focus on learning and accomplishing....highschool is fleeting..ditch the stress and depression...asap...but keep the Gaga!
